The Drone Interactive startup from Grenoble, a pioneer in interactive attractions combining drone operation with video gaming, continues its international development.

A few months after setting up its pilot site in the Lyon area, Drone Interactive has upped the pace. The leisure industry company that originated in Grenoble has persuaded the FUN PLANET group to install an ARCADRONE in its multi-activity leisure centre in Rennaz (French-speaking Switzerland). It is scheduled to open before the end of the year.

“We discovered the ARCADRONE concept at the IAAPA Expo fair in Amsterdam in September 2018. Since then, we have been keeping a close eye on Drone Interactive’s development of this new product, which represents a true revolution in the leisure park sector. In June, we were finally able to see and try out the attraction for ourselves at the Exalto park in Dardilly. It was enough to make us certain that ARCADRONE would be a perfect addition to Rennaz FUN PLANET.” Anthony HEIM, FUN PLANET park director.

Drone INTERACTIVE and FUN PLANET are delighted with their partnership and impatient to inaugurate this leisure activity that will be unique in Switzerland.

DRONE INTERACTIVE in brief

The startup, founded in January 2018 in Grenoble, develops a new concept of attractions for leisure parks combining drone operation with video gaming. It stems from more than 15 years’ R&D in the GIPSA-lab (a unit jointly operated by CNRS - Grenoble-INP - Université Grenoble Alpes) to make drone operation safe, accessible and fun. The startup, which now employs nine people, was supported by the SATT Linksium incubator, and won the Bpifrance innovation trophy. Drone Interactive aims to become a recognised contributor to the leisure parks industry with a range of interactive attractions based on fun drone operation. The concept won over the general public at the CES 2018 in Las Vegas and the sector’s stakeholders at the latest IAAPA Expo Europe exhibition. Drone Interactive is a member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).
