Context
Parkinson's disease affects more than 12 million people worldwide, and its incidence is on the rise, but it is often diagnosed late and is difficult to diagnose. It often takes years to confirm the diagnosis and distinguish this disease from other similar conditions, which delays treatment and limits its effectiveness.
Technology
The technology is based on a novel blood biomarker that uses nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to measure a combination of six metabolites. A standardized analytical protocol is combined with a metabolite interpretation algorithm, enabling reliable analysis on existing clinical platforms.
